Designer: Jeremy Scott

From the first time I watched a Korean Music Video, I have loved their clothes! In developing myself as a designer, and trying to figure out just what it is I want to do in the Apparel Industry, I have thought often about how amazing it would be to design for Korean Pop Bands.

It seems that there isn't really designers that design specifically for a certain band, it seems more of a designer creates masterpieces of clothing and the band wears them in their videos. Sometimes relationships are formed and designers do design for their favorite band. One example of this would be Adidas designer Jeremy Scott and his fantastic relationship with the band 2NE1.

Jeremy Scott
Jeremy Scott attended Pratt Fashion School in Brooklyn, NY, and has designed for many runways, including Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Moscow, London and Seoul. If you want to see his most recent runway collection, go to his website!

In 2011, 2NE1 all wore clothing designed by Jeremy Scott to the MTV's Best New Bands Concert. Here are some photos from that event:

And can't forget the shoes!!!
I love Korean Pop music, but they aren't the only ones who wear Jeremy Scott's clothing. Here are some people from the American Pop Music Industry!
Katy Perry
Rihanna

I went to Adidas website, and found some things I would love to buy! Including this beautiful pair of boots, designed by Jeremy Scott, inspired by a butterfly!

And I will leave you with a more recent photo of Jeremy Scott with his favorite band!

Shoe Brand: Sorel

I had known about Sorel as a brand that my dad talked about as a great cold-weather boot. In my mind, I always thought of the heavy, rubber boot with a fat liner that definitely keeps your feet warm, but doesn't do anything for your aesthetic.

Apparently, this is no longer the case! I had the opportunity to speak with a woman in HR from Columbia Sportswear (who now owns Sorel), and she informed me that Sorel's focus is currently on the target market of women 18 - 24.

With her encouragement to browse Sorel's website, I was amazed at what I found! These boots were not the ugly rugged boots I had pictured, these boots were fashionable and functional (my favorite design combination)! Don't take my word for it, take a look at these beauties or go pursue the website yourself!

Sorel's Women's Conquest Carly $220

I was so fascinated with all of these beautiful boots, that I ended up looking at everything else on the website. To go along with promoting women's products, Sorel is promoting entrepreneur women who wear their boots. There is a video on the website and a link to a blog that promote 5 different women who have done amazing things. More kudos to Sorel!

Because I wanted to learn more about Sorel, I also found out that they were originally a Canadian company founded by Kitchener (later Kaufman Rubber Co.) in 1962. Their boots were made in Canada then, but when the company went bankrupt, Columbia purchased the brand and now they are manufactured outside of Canada.

I don't know about you, but when my shoe fund gets a little more green in it, I'll be purchasing some footwear from Sorel!

Must-have Nikes

I think that these shoes might be perfect for the tomboy-type of girl. I can't believe how many different color ways and styles are offered in this high-heeled shoe. Definitely on my need to buy list!

For the love of shoes!

You may have noticed that I have added another friend to my blog roll. This lovely lady, is Mandi Kremer, whom I had the opportunity of dressing at Portland Fashion Week. As I found with a lot of the models, they were so much more friendly that I thought they would be. The other amazing thing about Mandi, is that she designs her own shoes. (Designing by adding things to her shoes and making them spectacular!)

Miss Grishley wrote an article for the Daily Barometer talking about her fabulous shoes after Portland Fashion Week.

She recently designed some new ones, and I am now saving up my monies to buy a pair!
Here's a bad picture of the shoes, go to Mani's blog to see them better!
